Guides to Fuji

Fuji city is the ideal place to get off the beaten track and explore and photograph, urban and rural Japan. The juxtaposition of mega factories, the port, and the Shinkansen, with the natural landmarks such as the ocean, Fuji river and Mt Fuji, make for a powerful backdrop to the green tea farms, rice paddies, shrines and temples all within a 5 Km radius of the hostel.

With buses leaving for Fujinomiya 5th station just across the road you can either wake up early in the morning and climb Mt Fuji as a day trip and come back to sleep at the hostel, or take it more leisurely and sleep up on the mountain and return the following day.

Day trips are easily accessed from the train across the road to Fujinomiya where you can see the Shiraito falls, the Sengen Shrine and Tanuki lake.

If outdoor adventure activities are your thing, you can go white river rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding or on a go-karting tour.

One of our favourite things to do is to cycle along the sea or river. We have bicycles for rent for just 300 ‎¥‎ per day.
