Explore the Town

The hostel is ideally located directly across from Fuji station and Fuji Honcho (Main Street) where you can explore many local restaurants, bars and Karaoke spots all within a 5 min walking distance.

With trains and buses leaving from outside the hostel, we are a great place to stop off on your journey from Tokyo to Kyoto and experience Mt Fuji, nature and the Shizuoka country side.

There are also free buses that can take you to the local onsen or the local games center.

Our Hidden Gems

It’s a super onsen with various massage baths that have water pressure effects. There are also saunas, an electric bath and a carbonated bath.
How To Get There
There is a shuttle bus that stops across the road from Running Bare hostel that will take you to and from the local onsen, check the shuttle timetable here. You can also walk there. Check This map.

How To Get There

To get to Shiraito Falls, take the local train from Fuji station to Fujinomiya (± 18 minute journey ± ¥240 ).  On reaching Fujinomiya station go down the stairs to street level and to the bus station directly across the road on the north side of the train station. Buy a bus ticket (± ¥) for Shiraito Falls  (± 30 minute journey) and if you like you can buy a round ticket which includes beautiful Tanuki Lake. As you walk down to the waterfalls stop at the entrance and buy a wasabi ice cream made from wasabi watered with the nutritious water that flows from the melted ice on Mt Fuji.

Summary

Fuji Takasago Sake Brewery is located 20 minutes from Fujinomiya station. For free tasting and sake ‘brewing’ tours please contact  0544-27-2008 or email info@fuji-takasago.com. Reservations are required in advance. The underground water from Mt Fuji is used in the making of the sake.
